Lara’s approach to life and work can be summarized in one question: How do we know? A professional people watcher, Lara uses this curiosity to explore and understand how and why things and people are the way they are.

For more than 25 years, Lara has paired this guiding question with design thinking to support organizations as they explore their innovation and efficiency. She does this wearing many hats, including Professional Human Ecologist, Project Manager, Public Relations Professional, Public Engagement Strategist, Evaluator, and Storyteller.

Lara’s mission is fueled through doctoral studies in Human Ecology, through her firm that serves clients to be more inclusive from engagement to evaluation, and through collaborative research and working partnerships with those dedicated to making Canada inclusive for all.

Lara excels in her approach to understand, document, include, and evaluate lived experiences of a diversity of users in a variety of fields and industries. When working with clients, she guides collaborative design processes that create social and physical environments that include, rather than exclude, the majority of people. Lara facilitates strategic planning to craft a clear vision, develops assessment tools to determine effective activities to reach this vision, and designs and executes evaluation plans to demonstrate the impact of this vision on intended audiences
